Tips to Look After Your Dried Wreath
You've been to one of our workshops, or purchased one of our DIY Wreath Kits, and now Christmas is over for another year. You've got a gorgeous dried wreath that you have made, why not keep it up all year long? It's your place, you make the rules. Absolutely you can do that, and actually it's highly recommended to do so! There's no way it will get squashed and you can enjoy your Wreath creation every day of the year, not just over the festive season.
Here are some Instructions to Care for Your Dried Flower Wreath:
-
Keep it out of direct sunlight: Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause the colors of the flowers to fade. Display the wreath in a shaded area or away from direct sun to preserve its vibrant colors.
-
Avoid moisture: Dried flowers are sensitive to moisture and can become brittle or moldy if exposed to humidity. Keep the wreath in a dry environment, and avoid hanging it in places like bathrooms or near damp windows.
-
Dust regularly: Gently shake the wreath to dislodge dust, but avoid using a vacuum cleaner, which could damage the flowers.
-
Store properly: If you're storing the wreath, keep it in a cool, dry place, such as in a box or a plastic container. Avoid crushing the flowers, so be sure to store it flat or hanging.
-
Avoid handling it too much: Dried flowers can be fragile and may break or shed petals with frequent handling. Handle your wreath gently when adjusting or moving it.
-
Spray with hairspray (optional): Some people like to spray their dried flowers with a light coating of hairspray to help preserve them. This can reduce shedding and maintain the structure of the wreath.
Whether you're choosing to leave it hanging up or storing it away, I hope these tips are helpful and prolong the life of your wreath. If your wreath needs a freshen up, contact Rachel on posyproject@gmail.com for a posy of dried goodies to add to it.
